Blind Fury is a 1989 action-comedy movie directed by Phillip Noyce and starring Rutger Hauer as Nick Parker, a blind Vietnam veteran who was trained as a swordfighter by the locals during his time in the country.

As the movie begins, Nick is living in rural Japan when he is contacted by his old Army buddy, Frank Devereaux (played by Terry O'Quinn), who asks him to come to America to help rescue his son, Billy (played by Brandon Call), who has been kidnapped by a powerful drug lord.

Despite his blindness, Nick agrees to help and soon finds himself caught up in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with the kidnappers. With the help of Annie Winchester (played by Meg Foster), a friendly bartender who becomes Nick's eyes and ears, Nick must use his incredible swordfighting skills to take down the bad guys and save Billy before it's too late.

Along the way, Nick also has to confront his own ghosts from the past, including memories of his time in Vietnam and the trauma that led to his blindness. Despite these challenges, Nick remains determined to see the mission through, no matter what it takes.

Blind Fury was well received by audiences and critics alike for its unique blend of action, comedy, and drama, as well as for Hauer's charismatic and memorable performance as the blind swordsman. The movie has since become a cult classic and remains a beloved part of Hauer's legacy.
