After being locked in their bomb shelter for 35 years due to a false alarm, the Webers have created their own self-sustaining world underground. Adam, played by Brendan Fraser, was born in the shelter and has never been outside. When his parents realize that they are running out of supplies, they send him on a mission to gather more.

Adam is shocked by the outside world and struggles to adjust to the new sights and sounds. He meets and falls in love with Eve, played by Alicia Silverstone. However, he soon realizes that he needs to reintegrate into society and find a suitable wife, someone who is not a product of the post-apocalyptic world he is used to.

Adam's parents, played by Christopher Walken and Sissy Spacek, are apprehensive about Adam’s experiences in the outside world and are nervous about him bringing a non-mutant girl home. Their anxieties come to a head when Eve is taken to the shelter and they must all learn to coexist.

Overall, Blast from the Past is a heartwarming comedy about adapting to change. It highlights how different experiences can impact our views and a reminder that meaningful relationships transcend societal differences.
