Black Wake is a 2018 sci-fi horror movie directed by Jeremiah Kipp and stars Nana Gouvea, Tom Sizemore, and Eric Roberts. The story follows a team of experts who are called in to investigate a series of unusual deaths that have occurred along the Atlantic coast.
The team, led by marine biologist and parasitologist Dr. Luiza Moreira (Nana Gouvea), quickly discovers that the deaths are the result of a mysterious parasite that attaches itself to the human brain, causing hallucinations and eventually death.
As they continue their investigation, they receive a package of cryptic writings from a homeless man, which leads them to believe that there may be an ancient and powerful force at work. As they delve deeper into the mystery, they begin to experience their own hallucinations and must fight to keep their grip on reality.
The film is presented as found footage, with much of the action shown through the lens of the team's cameras. It features a haunting, atmospheric score and some moments of genuine terror.
