Black Dawn is a 2005 action-thriller directed by Alexander Gruszynski and stars Steven Seagal as the CIA agent, Jonathan Cold. The film opens with a lethal terrorist attack by the Pakistani group, Al Dakaar, on an American convoy in Afghanistan. The CIA soon discovers that the group is planning to strike the United States with a deadly weapon that could cause widespread destruction.
In response to this, a special CIA task force is assembled, and Jonathan Cold is assigned to infiltrate the group and prevent the attack. Cold poses as a gun smuggler and gains the trust of the group's leader, Ali Mahmud Jahar (Luke Goss). However, things soon become complicated when Cold falls for Jahar's beautiful sister, Nadia (Tamara Davies), and begins to sympathize with the group's cause.
As Cold attempts to gather information about the group's plans, he discovers that they have acquired a nuclear weapon and are planning to detonate it in Los Angeles. The clock is ticking, and Cold must find a way to stop the terrorists before it's too late.
The film features intense and well-choreographed action sequences, including hand-to-hand combat and high-speed chases. It also explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and redemption, as Cold must decide where his allegiances lie.
