As KJ goes around challenging various top dojos, he quickly realizes that the world of martial arts is much more complicated than he originally thought. He meets a wide range of competitors, some friendly and some hostile, and learns a lot about himself along the way.
Meanwhile, KJ's father, a past champion fighter who has since retired, begins to live vicariously through his son's journey. He pushes KJ harder and harder, determined to make sure he becomes the strongest fighter possible. But as KJ's successes begin to stack up, he starts to question his own motivations for pursuing this lifestyle.
Ultimately, KJ and his father must come to terms with their own personal demons and make some difficult decisions about what they truly value in life. Along the way, they both learn that success is not always measured in trophies or victories, but in the relationships we build with those around us. By the end of the film, they are both changed individuals, with new perspectives on what it means to be a true martial artist.
