Birdies follows the story of Jake, a talented but troubled Golf Pro who is hired by Twin Pines to help revitalize the struggling country club. However, Jake quickly discovers that the club's problems run deeper than he initially thought.
While attempting to boost morale among the members of Twin Pines, Jake also has to contend with his own personal demons. He struggles with alcoholism and a failed marriage, which threaten to derail his attempts at turning the club around.
As he works to bring Twin Pines back to its former glory, Jake also faces stiff competition from the nearby Magnolia Pointe club, whose wealthy members look down on the less prestigious Twin Pines.
But with the help of the club's quirky staff, including the lovable but eccentric caddy Rico, and the support of a newfound love interest, Jake sets out to prove that Twin Pines is a force to be reckoned with.
Along the way, Birdies explores themes of redemption, perseverance, and the enduring human spirit, all set against the lush backdrop of the golf course.
