The Supercomputer Conspiracy

Thriller  United Kingdom

Billion Dollar Brain is a 1967 spy thriller movie directed by Ken Russell, based on the novel of the same name by Len Deighton. The film stars Michael Caine as Harry Palmer, a former British spy who is recruited by an eccentric American billionaire named General Midwinter (Ed Begley) to help overthrow Communism in Latvia.

Midwinter has created a supercomputer called the "Brain", which he believes can accurately predict political and military events. He enlists Harry to help him use the Brain to mobilize a right-wing Latvian group called the "Baltic Freedom Fighters" to overthrow the Communist government in Latvia.

Harry soon discovers that Midwinter's motives may not be entirely philanthropic, and that he may be working with some unsavory characters. Along the way, Harry also meets a beautiful Russian spy named Anya (Françoise Dorléac) who becomes a valuable ally.

As Harry delves deeper into the plot, he becomes increasingly entangled in a web of espionage and betrayal. He must use all his skills and resources to figure out who is really working for whom and stop the dangerous conspiracy before it's too late.

Billion Dollar Brain is known for its stylish and atmospheric cinematography, as well as Michael Caine's iconic portrayal of Harry Palmer. The film was a commercial success and helped cement Caine's reputation as one of the most popular actors of his generation.
