Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a biographical sports drama film directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The film stars Farhan Akhtar in the lead role of Milkha Singh, the iconic Indian athlete. The movie starts with Milkha witnessing the killing of his father, who was a farmer in Pakistan during the Indo-Pak partition of 1947. After that, young Milkha moves to India with his family, but they all die in the riots. Only Milkha and his brother survive and reach Delhi. Milkha eventually joins the Indian Army and discovers his talent for running. He finds love in Biro, played by Sonam Kapoor, and becomes a national champion. However, he feels that he still has to prove himself to his nation while battling his inner demons and personal tragedies. The movie shows Milkha's journey to becoming a world champion runner despite facing poverty, prejudice, and heartbreak. It also highlights the importance of perseverance, determination, and the power of the human spirit. The film was a critical and commercial success, receiving numerous awards, including multiple Filmfare awards.
