Beyond the Clouds is a drama film directed by Iranian filmmaker, Majid Majidi, which explores the complex relationships between siblings, and the deep emotional bonds that hold them together. The film is set against the backdrop of bustling Mumbai and follows the story of a young man named Amir, who leads a hedonistic lifestyle and is involved in the illegal drug trade.

Amir’s life takes a drastic turn when he is caught by the police and sent to jail. Desperate for help, he turns to his estranged sister, Tara, who is struggling to make ends meet and earn a living by working as a cleaner. Despite their difficult past, Tara agrees to help Amir, but her involvement with his problems quickly becomes a dangerous mire.

As the story develops, we see how the siblings, through their experiences, begin to understand and appreciate one another's emotional needs. As they work to overcome the challenges they face, they start to build a new relationship with each other.

The film’s central themes include family, the contrast between wealth and poverty, and the importance of having strong personal values. Beyond the Clouds also deals with the harsh realities of urban life in Mumbai such as human trafficking and drug abuse.
