Beyond the Call is a 1996 drama film directed by Tony Bill.

The film begins with the arrest of Russell Gates, a former marine and Vietnam veteran, who is accused of murdering a police officer during a robbery. Despite claiming his innocence, Russell is sentenced to death row.

Pam O'Brien, Russell's former girlfriend, is shocked to learn of his arrest and conviction. Despite being married and having children, Pam becomes obsessed with Russell's case and begins corresponding with him. She visits him in prison on a regular basis and starts investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder.

As Pam delves deeper into the case, she uncovers evidence that suggests Russell may not have been the killer. Meanwhile, Russell's execution date approaches, and Pam works tirelessly to prove his innocence before it's too late.
