Enter Jake, a nerdy high school student who has always been fascinated with the paranormal. When Jake comes across Madison's ghost, he realizes he may be the only one who can see and hear her. Madison sees in Jake a potential partner to help her solve her murder, and reluctantly enlists his help.
Together, the unlikely duo embarks on a quest to find Madison's killer, which takes them through the high society of Beverly Hills, revealing secrets and scandals along the way. They encounter a variety of quirky characters, some of whom were friends with Madison, and others who have something to hide.
