Gil Giles was once a promising small track racer with aspirations of making it to the big leagues. However, one night at the track, he suffered a horrific accident that left him with permanent physical damage and mentally scarred.
As a result, Gil turned to heavy drinking and hustling as a means of survival. He would often flip anything he could get his hands on for cash, with the hope of one day making a comeback on the racing scene.
Despite his struggles, Gil held on to his love for racing and often found himself at the local track, watching in envy as other racers chased their dreams.
One day, an opportunity arises for Gil to compete in a local race, and he decides to make one final attempt at achieving his childhood dream. However, to do so, he must overcome his physical limitations and personal demons, all while facing stiff competition from younger, more talented racers.
Best Years Gone is a heart-wrenching story about the human will to never give up on one's dreams, even when the odds are stacked against them.
