Chris Sanders is a teenage gamer who spends most of his time playing the online video game "Black Hole." He is highly skilled and devoted to the game and dreams of winning the upcoming tournament with a grand prize of $175,500. However, his plans are thwarted when he discovers that his online rival Quincy is actually a school bully who has been sabotaging his gaming progress.

As Chris sets out to get revenge on Quincy, he becomes distracted by his mother Tracy's newfound romantic interest in him. Tracy believes Quincy is her online date and is unaware of his true identity. Quincy, eager to keep up his charade, lies to Tracy about being a home economics teacher at Chris' school.

With the tournament approaching and tensions running high, Chris discovers Quincy's true identity and makes plans to humiliate him in the game. However, after Quincy shows remorse for his actions, Chris decides to forgive him and withdraws from the tournament altogether with Quincy forfeiting as well.

In the end, Tracy forgives Quincy and the two attend Chris' high school prom, while Chris decides to go with her crush, Ash. The movie explores themes of forgiveness, redemption, and the dangers of cyberbullying, all of which are relevant to modern teenage culture.
