Beneath

Horror  United States of America

Beneath is a chilling film directed by Ben Ketai and released in 2013. The story takes place in a coal mine, where a crew of miners is working to extract coal from deep below the ground. One day, a tragic incident occurs as the mine collapses, trapping the miners 600 feet beneath the surface.

As time passes, the oxygen level in the mine begins to deplete, causing the air to become toxic and putting the miners' lives in grave danger. In the face of this deadly situation, the characters slowly unravel and become consumed by fear and desperation.

The film is based on real-life incidents that occurred in Pennsylvania in 2002 and Utah in 2007, where coal miners were trapped underground for several days. The filmmakers did extensive research and consulted with experts to accurately depict the physical and psychological effects of being trapped underground.

Beneath is a gripping story of survival and the human condition, exploring the depths of hope, despair, and the limits of human endurance. With a talented cast that includes Jeff Fahey, Brent Briscoe, and Kelly Noonan, the film is a must-see for fans of psychological thrillers and true stories.
