After surviving a brutal shark attack, Mia (played by Jessica Rothe) returns home with a traumatized mindset. Her family tries to console her by assuring that everything is going to be okay, but Mia starts to experience hallucinations and flashback memories that become more and more intense over time.
She discovers that the boat captain who was with them during the attack has a shady past and may have put their lives at risk. In addition, Mia's brother, who was also on the boat, seems to be hiding something from her.
As Mia tries to uncover the truth and overcome her deep fears, she decides to confront her enemies by taking a scuba diving trip. However, her dive takes a shocking turn when she realizes that the great white shark which attacked her is back, and seeking revenge.
The movie, Beneath the Surface, takes its viewers through a journey of psychological horror, and brings to light the true nature of people in times of distress. It is a gripping thriller that keeps the audience on edge until the very end.
