Belleville Cop is a French-American action-comedy film directed by Rachid Bouchareb, starring Omar Sy, Luis Guzman, and Franck Gastambide. The story follows Baaba (Omar Sy), a policeman from Belleville, a small town outside of Paris, who travels to Miami to investigate the murder of his childhood friend, Roland (Eriq Ebouaney). Roland was killed after coming to Miami to warn Baaba about the encroaching drug gangs. In Miami, Baaba teams up with local officer Ricardo (Luis Guzman) to find the killers and bring them to justice. As they investigate the case, Baaba and Ricardo clash over their different styles of policing, but eventually, they learn to work together to take down the dangerous drug gangs. The film is known for its action-packed scenes, humor, and social commentary. It was released in France in 2018 and in the United States in 2021.
