The movie Behind Enemy Lines was released in 2001 and starred Owen Wilson as Chris Burnett, a U.S. Navy pilot flying reconnaissance missions over Bosnia. On one such mission, Burnett and his partner are ordered to check out some suspicious activity happening on the ground but are then shot down by a Serbian missile. Burnett's partner is killed, and Burnett finds himself alone and behind enemy lines.

As he tries to evade the Serbian army and make his way back to safety, Burnett realizes that he has photographic evidence of war crimes being committed by the Serbian general. He is relentlessly pursued by the general's troops, who want to eliminate him and the evidence he possesses.

Meanwhile, back at his base, Burnett's commanding officer, played by Gene Hackman, becomes increasingly frustrated by the lack of response from his superiors who seem more concerned with political posturing than saving the life of a downed pilot. As time ticks away and Burnett's situation becomes more perilous, Hackman's character decides to take matters into his own hands and launches a rogue rescue mission, risking his own career in the process.

The movie is a tense thriller that showcases the bravery and skill of military personnel, as well as the political and ethical challenges they face when engaging in international conflicts. It received mixed reviews from critics but was a commercial success.
