Beethoven's 2nd is a 1993 family comedy film and a sequel to the 1992 film, Beethoven. The film stars Charles Grodin as the father of a suburban family and Bonnie Hunt as his wife, along with Nicholle Tom, Christopher Castile, and Sarah Rose Karr as their kids. The film also features a St. Bernard dog named Beethoven who falls in love with a female St. Bernard named Missy.

As the story unfolds, Beethoven and Missy become close and fall in love. As a result, Missy becomes pregnant, and the couple gives birth to four puppies shortly after. However, Missy's owner, Regina, wants to sell the puppies and tear the family apart. She is motivated by greed and does not care about the feelings of either Beethoven or the Newton family. Beethoven and the Newton kids devise a plan to save the puppies and keep everyone together.

The film was released on December 17, 1993, and was directed by Rod Daniel. It was produced by Ivan Reitman and written by Len Blum. Like its predecessor, the film received mixed reviews from critics but was a commercial success, grossing $118 million worldwide. The film's success led to two more sequels, Beethoven's 3rd and Beethoven's 4th, both of which were also released in the 1990s.
