Battle for the Beer Olympics

Comedy  United States of America

Beerfest is a 2006 comedy film directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, who also co-wrote and starred in the movie. The film tells the story of two brothers, Todd (Erik Stolhanske) and Jan (Paul Soter), who travel to Germany to fulfill their grandfather's dying wish of scattering his ashes at Oktoberfest.

While at Oktoberfest, the brothers stumble upon a drinking competition called Beerfest, where teams from all over the world compete to see who can drink the most beer in a series of events. The brothers are initially mocked by their German cousins, who are experienced Beerfest competitors, but they eventually manage to form their own team, recruiting a group of misfits from a local bar.

The team, called "Team USA," heads back to Germany the following year to compete in the Beerfest competition. Along the way, they face challenges and setbacks, including dealing with a corrupt German team and coming to terms with their own family history.

As the competition heats up, and the stakes get higher, Team USA must use all their wits and beer-drinking skills to come out on top. The film culminates in a final showdown between Team USA and the reigning Beerfest champions, a group of German drinking legends.

Beerfest is a raunchy, irreverent comedy that features plenty of drinking, debauchery, and crude humor. The film was a modest box office success and has since gained a cult following among fans of comedies like Super Troopers and Club Dread, which were also directed by Chandrasekhar.
