The two young couples are comprised of Sam and Zoe, and Nick and Michelle. They are on a weekend camping trip and are driving through a remote forest when their car breaks down. While trying to fix the car, they come across a grizzly bear and accidentally shoot it when they are trying to scare it away.
Unfortunately, this incites the wrath of the bear's mate, who begins to attack their van. The couples are trapped inside and must try to outsmart the bear to survive. The bear proves to be surprisingly intelligent, and they realize that it is deliberately trying to prevent them from escaping.
As they struggle to survive, tensions rise between the couples. Unresolved issues and secrets begin to emerge, threatening to tear them apart before the bear does. Sam and Zoe are struggling with their relationship, while Nick is jealous of Michelle's close friendship with Sam. Michelle, in turn, is harboring secrets from her past that could put them all in danger.
As they continue to battle the bear, they must also confront their own demons and come to terms with their relationships. In the end, they are forced to make life-or-death decisions that will determine their fate. Will they be able to overcome their differences and work together to survive, or will internal conflicts tear them apart and lead to their demise?
