The movie Battle of the Coral Sea is a 1959 war movie directed by Paul Wendkos. It stars Cliff Robertson, Gia Scala, and Teru Shimada.

The story starts when the American submarine, U.S.S. Copperfin, is on a secret mission to collect intelligence on Japanese military movements, specifically the whereabouts of Japanese aircraft carriers during World War II. Jeff Conway and his crew must attempt a daring escape to save their own lives and provide critical intelligence to the American fleet.
