Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One is an animated superhero film based on the comic book series of the same name by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale. It is the first of a two-part adaptation that follows the early days of Batman's career in Gotham City.

The film begins with a Halloween murder that sets off a chain of events leading to a pact between Batman, Police Captain James Gordan, and District Attorney Harvey Dent in order to take down The Roman, head of the powerful Falcone Crime Family. As they investigate the case, they discover that the killer only strikes on holidays and that they are dealing with a serial killer. With each conflicting clue, the identity of the killer becomes harder to discern, and they realize that they are dealing with a highly intelligent adversary.

As the investigation continues, Batman, Gordon, and Dent dive deeper into Gotham's underworld, encountering villains like Catwoman, the Joker, and the Mad Hatter. They also confront challenges within their own organizations as corruption and betrayal threaten to undermine their efforts to bring justice to the city.

The animation style of the movie is reminiscent of the comic book's art style, and the voice acting by the likes of Jensen Ackles (as Batman), Naya Rivera (as Catwoman), and Josh Duhamel (as Harvey Dent) bring the characters to life. The film ends on a cliffhanger, setting the stage for the second part of the adaptation.
