Barnyard is a 2006 animated comedy film directed by Steve Oedekerk and produced by Nickelodeon Movies. The film features voice performances from Kevin James, Courteney Cox, Sam Elliott, Danny Glover, Andie MacDowell, and Wanda Sykes.
The story revolves around a barnyard full of farm animals, including Otis, a free-spirited cow who prefers to goof off and have fun instead of taking responsibility. However, when the farmer is away, Otis is forced to take charge of the farm and protect it from the coyotes who are threatening their peaceful life. Along the way, Otis learns important lessons about leadership, friendship, and family.
Throughout the film, there are various musical performances from the animal characters. The soundtrack includes songs by artists such as the Who, Elvis Presley, and Green Day.
Barnyard received mixed reviews from critics but was a commercial success, grossing over $116 million worldwide. It also spawned a television series, called Back at the Barnyard, which aired on Nickelodeon from 2007 to 2011.
