In Barbie in A Mermaid Tale 2, Merliah is thrilled to return to Australia to compete in the ultimate surfing competition. She is accompanied by her best friends, Kylie and Hadley. However, their plans are thwarted when Eris, an evil mermaid, escapes from her whirlpool and hatches a plan to take over the throne of Oceana.
