When the two girls meet, they discover they look exactly alike, and soon hatch a plot to switch places.

As Anneliese and Erika adjust to their new lives, they must deal with the challenges of their new roles. Anneliese must learn to live the simple life, while Erika must navigate the complexities of castle life, including a budding romance with the handsome King Dominick.

The movie features seven original songs, including "Free", "How Can I Refuse", and "I Am a Girl Like You". The film was well-received by audiences and critics, and has since become a beloved classic in the Barbie movie franchise.
