Badla is a Hindi-language thriller film directed by Sujoy Ghosh and starring Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan. The movie is an official adaptation of the 2016 Spanish film 'The Invisible Guest' directed by Oriol Paulo.
The plot revolves around Naina Sethi (Taapsee Pannu), a successful businesswoman who finds herself locked in a hotel room with the corpse of her lover, Arjun (Tony Luke). She is accused of murdering him and faces a possible life sentence.
To defend herself, Naina hires Badal Gupta (Amitabh Bachchan), a well-known lawyer with a reputation for never losing a case. The two of them meet in the hotel room where the crime took place and start working together to piece together the events that led to the death of Arjun.
As Badal questions Naina and analyzes the crime scene, he begins to uncover a web of secrets and lies that complicates the case even further. The audience is taken on a thrilling ride as the truth behind what really happened is slowly revealed.
The movie features intense performances by both Pannu and Bachchan, with a well-constructed plot that keeps the audience guessing until the very end. Badla received critical acclaim and was a box office success.
