Badges of Fury is a 2013 Chinese action-comedy film directed by Wong Tsz-ming and starring Jet Li, Wen Zhang, and Michelle Chen. The film follows two cops, Wang and Huang, who are tasked with solving a string of murders that all seemed to be linked to aspiring starlet, Liu Jinshui (played by Chen). The murders are particularly eerie and gruesome, as the victims all have had their reproductive organs removed.
As they delve deeper into the case, Wang and Huang discover that Liu has had relationships with all of the victims in the past, making her the prime suspect. However, when they attempt to arrest her, they realize that she is being framed by the real killer. With no leads, the two cops must resort to a risky plan: one of them must go undercover as Liu's lover to lure out the murderer.
The film is known for its over-the-top humor and action sequences, with Wen Zhang providing a particularly comedic performance as the maverick cop, Wang. Jet Li plays the more serious and experienced detective, Huang, and also serves as a producer for the film. Despite mixed reviews upon its release, Badges of Fury was a box office success in China and remains a favorite for fans of the action-comedy genre.
