Bad Turn Worse is a coming-of-age crime thriller that features the lives of three friends – Bobby (Jeremy Allen White), B.J. (Logan Huffman), and Sue (Mackenzie Davis), who hatch a plan to make a break for it from their dull lives in a small Texas town. The friends pool all their resources and dream of making a fresh start in California, but things take a sudden turn when B.J. steals $20,000 from a sleazy local crime boss named Giff (Mark Pellegrino).
Before they know it, the three teenagers are caught up in a seedy underworld of organized crime and violence, caught between Giff's enforcer, a menacing figure named Big Red (William Devane), and a crooked sheriff (Jon Gries) who wants his cut of the stolen money. It soon becomes clear that they have stolen from the wrong people, and the trio finds themselves in over their heads in a dangerous game of survival that none of them is prepared for.
As the friends struggle to keep one step ahead of their pursuers, they must confront their own weaknesses, their loyalty to each other, and the harsh realities of the world they have stumbled into.
