Bad Trip is a 2021 American hidden camera comedy film directed by Kitao Sakurai. The movie follows best friends Chris Carey (Eric Andre) and Bud Malone (Lil Rel Howery) as they embark on a cross-country road trip from Florida to New York City. Along their journey, they pull a series of outrageous, hidden-camera pranks on unsuspecting members of the public.
One of their first pranks involves Chris accidentally getting his hand stuck in a blender at a diner. Bud attempts to free him, causing a chaotic scene that eventually leads to Chris breaking free and causing a mess. Throughout the movie, the friends pull various other pranks, including a scene where Chris and Bud pretend to be gorillas in the middle of a zoo, and another involving them acting out a fake car crash in front of a group of strangers.
As they make their way to New York, Chris bumps into Maria Li (Michaela Conlin), his high school crush, and decides to pursue her. This leads to more pranks and chaos, including Chris stripping naked in front of a group of strangers to impress Maria.
The movie features cameos from Tiffany Haddish, Lil Rel Howery, and others. Overall, Bad Trip is a raunchy yet hilarious movie that showcases Eric Andre's unique brand of comedy and ability to push the boundaries of what's acceptable in mainstream cinema.
