Bacterium is a horror/sci-fi movie directed by Brett Piper and released in 2006. The story is set in a small town in Pennsylvania, where a deranged scientist named Dr. Jerico (played by Richard Warwick) has developed a highly contagious and lethal bacterial strain. He believes that humanity has become too corrupt and needs to be wiped out, so he releases the bacteria into the town's water supply.

The film follows a group of survivors who must band together to find a way to stop the spread of the bacteria before it's too late. Among the survivors are a local sheriff (played by Andrew Kranz), a medical researcher (played by Alison Whitney), and a young woman named Rachel (played by Miya Sagara), who may hold the key to developing a cure.

As the bacterial outbreak begins to take its toll on the town, including gruesome scenes of people being consumed from the inside out, the survivors must race against time to find a way to stop Dr. Jerico and his deadly creation.

Bacterium received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising its retro-style horror and practical effects, while others criticized its low budget and uneven pacing. Nevertheless, it remains a cult favorite among horror fans for its blend of science fiction, gore, and suspense.
