Backstabbing for Beginners is a political thriller movie that showcases the story of a young employee, Michael Sullivan, who joins the United Nations in an idealistic attempt to make a difference. However, he quickly discovers that the politics within the organization are corrupt and disheartening.

Sullivan's predecessor, a brilliant and respected diplomat, suddenly dies under mysterious circumstances, and Sullivan becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth behind his death. His investigation leads him to a dangerous discovery: the U.N. has been involved in a massive global conspiracy that involves the oil industry, various governments, and his own boss, the charismatic Deputy Secretary-General, Pasha.

As Sullivan gets closer to the truth, he becomes the target of those who would do anything to protect their interests and maintain the status quo. With the help of a courageous journalist, Sullivan risks everything to expose the truth and bring the culprits to justice.

The film stars Theo James as Michael Sullivan, Ben Kingsley as Pasha, and Jacqueline Bisset as Christina Dupre, the journalist who helps Sullivan in his quest for the truth. It is based on Michael Soussan's memoir of the same name, chronicling his own experiences as a U.N. worker in Iraq. The movie is a gripping, suspenseful, and thought-provoking tale of corruption and betrayal at the highest levels of power.
