The mercenary, named Toorop (played by Vin Diesel), is hired by a powerful Russian mobster to escort a mysterious young woman named Aurora (played by Mélanie Thierry) from a convent in Mongolia to New York City. Toorop agrees to take on the job because the money is too good to pass up, but he soon discovers that Aurora is not just any ordinary girl.
As they make their way across Eastern Europe, Toorop and Aurora encounter a variety of dangerous and strange characters, including cannibalistic gangs and a sinister cult led by a man named Gorsky (played by Gérard Depardieu). Along the way, Aurora's secrets are slowly revealed, and Toorop begins to realize that he may have gotten himself into something far more complicated than he bargained for.
When they finally reach New York City, Toorop and Aurora must confront the truth about who she really is and why so many powerful people are after her. With the help of a hacker named Finn (played by Michelle Yeoh), they fight to survive against all odds in a post-apocalyptic world where the stakes are higher than ever before.
Babylon A.D. was released in 2008 and directed by Mathieu Kassovitz. While the movie received mixed reviews, it remains a cult favorite among fans of post-apocalyptic sci-fi and action films.
