Babes with Blades is a low-budget, independent fantasy-action film directed by Cecily Fay and starring Fay herself as the warrior Azura. The film explores themes of oppression, resistance, and identity, using a blend of sci-fi and fantasy elements to create a unique, dystopian world.

Set on the desolate world of Draiga, the film follows Azura as she navigates the treacherous world of gladiatorial combat, forced to fight fellow prisoners in a brutal arena to stay alive. Azura is the last of her kind, a member of the Sarnian race, who were once renowned warriors and protectors of Draiga. But the Visray Empire, an alien race that now rules the planet, has decimated the Sarnians and enslaved the surviving human colonists.

Despite the odds, Azura retains her fierce warrior spirit and refuses to give up, even when she is pitted against seemingly indomitable foes in the arena. Her determination catches the eye of Arden, the leader of a human resistance movement, who believes Azura could be the key to defeating the Visray and restoring freedom to Draiga.

As Azura becomes embroiled in the resistance's battle against the Visray, she begins to uncover secrets about her own past and the fate of her people. With time running out, Azura must fight not only for her own survival but for the future of Draiga itself.

Babes with Blades boasts impressive fight choreography and visual effects on a limited budget, with Fay and her fellow cast members delivering energetic and entertaining performances. Although the film has its flaws, it is a fun and engaging ride for fans of sci-fi and fantasy action.
