The town that BAB takes place in is called Adairsville, and it's a dreary and decaying place with a dwindling population. The tyrannical leader that the traveler, who goes by the name The Horseman, wants to take out is a corrupt mayor named Randall Crawford. Crawford is a sleazy character who has been running Adairsville into the ground for years, and his latest scheme involves using a primitive mind rehabilitation center to brainwash his opponents into submission.

Donnie is a young farmhand who lives on the outskirts of town with his mother, who has been locked up in the rehabilitation center after speaking out against Crawford. Donnie is approached by The Horseman, who offers him a deal: if Donnie helps him take down Crawford, he will free Donnie's mother from the center. Donnie agrees, and together they begin to rally the townspeople to their cause.

As they work to overthrow Crawford, Donnie and The Horseman uncover deep-seated corruption and betrayal within the town. They also face violent opposition from Crawford's loyal followers, who are willing to do whatever it takes to keep their power. But with the help of a few unlikely allies, they press on to a final showdown against Crawford and his cohorts.

Through it all, BAB is a gritty and intense story of justice and redemption in a world that has lost its way. The film is anchored by powerful performances from its cast, and richly drawn characters that capture the shades of gray that exist even in the most black and white of situations.
