The movie Awakened follows the life of Larry, a man who leads a rather aimless existence. He is unemployed and drinks heavily, often causing trouble wherever he goes. In an effort to turn his life around, Larry takes a job at a Quick-Lube where he is given menial tasks like washing cars and cleaning up the garage.
Things quickly become difficult for Larry at work when he realizes that his co-workers are hostile towards him, often making fun of him and playing pranks on him. On top of that, Larry is constantly faced with unsatisfied customers who complain about the quality of his work.
Despite the challenges, Larry finds himself drawn to his boss Lupe Torrez, a beautiful and kind-hearted woman who takes a liking to him. She encourages him to do better and to make something of his life.
Larry's life is further complicated by his dog Arrow, whom he loves deeply and takes everywhere with him. When Arrow falls ill, Larry realizes he needs to take better care of himself if he wants to provide for his beloved pet.
As Larry tries to navigate his way through work, love, and his personal struggles, he must also deal with his grandmother, a feisty and formidable woman who wants nothing but the best for her grandson.
Awakened is a heartwarming story about a man's journey towards self-improvement, finding love and purpose in life, and the importance of family and friends.
