In "A Very Foul Play," Aurora Teagarden (played by Candace Cameron Bure) is attending a gathering of mystery and true crime fans with her nephew, Phillip (played by Dylan Sloane). The event takes place at a theater where a new play is being performed, and Phillip is one of the actors.
During one of the scenes, the lights suddenly go out, and when they come back on, one of the performers is found dead with Phillip holding the murder weapon. He is quickly taken into custody by the police, and Aurora is determined to prove his innocence.
As Aurora investigates, she uncovers a tangled web of deceit, betrayal, and secrets among the other actors and crew members. She also discovers that the victim had many enemies, as he was known for his ruthless behavior and mistreatment of others.
Along the way, Aurora also deals with personal issues, such as her relationship with her boyfriend Nick (played by Niall Matter) and her struggling career as a real estate agent.
In the end, Aurora is able to piece together the clues and identify the true killer, saving Phillip from a life behind bars.
