The short film Auntie Edna focuses on the character of Edna Mode, a brilliant fashion designer and superhero costume maker. In the film, Helen Parr (Elastigirl) turns to Edna for help with her infant son Jack-Jack, who has developed a range of superpowers that are causing chaos at home.
Edna agrees to help, taking Jack-Jack into her high-tech studio where she puts the baby through a series of tests to determine the extent of his powers. As Edna works her magic to create a custom suit that can contain Jack-Jack's abilities, she also discovers that the baby is incredibly complex and requires a lot of attention.
Over the course of the film, viewers get to see Edna's softer side emerge as she bonds with and cares for Jack-Jack. There are moments of humor and heart as Edna struggles to keep up with the energetic baby, who seems to have an endless supply of powers.
Auntie Edna was released in 2018 as part of the Pixar Shorts series and has been praised for giving more depth to Edna's character and showcasing the delightful potential of Jack-Jack's powers.
