August Rush is a 2007 drama film directed by Kirsten Sheridan and starring Freddie Highmore, Keri Russell, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. The story follows Evan Taylor (Highmore), an 11-year-old musical prodigy who was abandoned by his parents at birth and raised in an orphanage. Evan has always believed that his parents are still out there somewhere and he longs to find them.

One day, Evan discovers that he has a unique ability to hear music in everything around him. He begins to believe that this is the key to finding his parents and sets out on a journey to New York City to find them. Along the way, he meets a street musician named Arthur (Meyers) and his love interest, Lyla (Russell), who is a cellist in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Lyla and Evan have a chance encounter and she realizes that Evan is her son.

Despite numerous obstacles and setbacks, Evan never gives up on his dream and his talent ultimately leads him to a concert where Lyla and his father are both performing. Evan is finally reunited with his parents and they all experience the joy of music together.

Throughout the film, Evan's talent and love for music is showcased through his performances on the streets of New York City and in concert halls. The film also explores themes of love, loss, and the power of music to bring people together.
