Attila flagello di Dio

Comedy  Italy

Attila flagello di Dio (Attila, Scourge of God) is a 1982 Italian film directed by Castellano and Pipolo. The film follows Attila and his group of barbarians as they embark on a mission to conquer the Roman Empire. The movie portrays Attila as a fearless leader who is determined to take over the Roman Empire in order to spread his barbarian way of life.

The film takes place in Milano, which was then known as Mediolanum, in the 5th century AD. Attila, played by Italian actor Franco Nero, is depicted as a powerful warrior who is feared by many. He and his hordes of barbarians raid various towns in Italy, including Ravenna and Aquileia, on their journey to conquer Rome.

The film also features a Romeo and Juliet-inspired love story between Attila and Honoria, the sister of the Western Roman Emperor Valentinian III. However, their love is doomed as their families are enemies and the emperor has other plans for his sister's future.

Despite its low budget and criticized historical inaccuracies, Attila flagello di Dio remains a cult classic and is considered one of the best sword-and-sandal films of all time.
