Asuravadham is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by M. Maruthupandian. The film stars M. Sasikumar and Nandita Swetha in the lead roles, while Vasumitra, Sheela, and K. E. Gnanavel Raja in supporting roles.
The film's plot revolves around a man named Samayan (M. Sasikumar), who is on the run after he kills a powerful politician's son. He takes refuge in a small town and tries to hide from the police. However, things take a turn for the worse when a stranger (Vasumitra) who calls himself the "Killer," arrives in the town and starts threatening him. The Killer promises to kill Samayan after a week and starts tormenting him by spreading rumors about him in the town.
As the days pass, Samayan tries to find out who the Killer is and why he is after him. He discovers that the Killer is a hitman hired by the politician to avenge his son's death. Samayan tries to escape from the town but lands in more trouble. He is forced to confront the Killer in a final showdown to save his life and clear his name.
Asuravadham received positive reviews for its screenplay, direction, and performances. The film's soundtrack was composed by Govind Vasantha, with lyrics written by Yugabharathi. The film was released on 29 June 2018 and was a commercial success at the box office.
