The movie Astral follows the story of Alex, a university student who is struggling to cope with the loss of his mother who passed away when he was a child. Alex becomes obsessed with the idea of astral projection, a technique that is said to allow people to leave their physical bodies and travel through the astral plane.
Despite warnings from his friend and roommate Damon, Alex continues to practice astral projection and eventually succeeds in leaving his body. Over the course of several astral journeys, Alex is able to reconnect with his mother and gain a sense of closure about her death.
However, as he becomes more experienced with astral projection, Alex begins to experience strange and terrifying phenomena. He starts to see malicious entities in the astral plane who are intent on harming him and those he cares about. As the situations escalate, Alex realizes that his obsession with astral projection has put him and his loved ones in grave danger.
With the help of Damon and a local medium, Alex works to banish the malevolent entities and regain control over his life. But he soon discovers that the consequences of his actions may be far greater than he ever imagined. The film ultimately explores themes of grief, loss, and the dangers of playing with forces beyond our understanding.
