The group of everyday heroes are a team of miners working in the deep mines of Northern Ontario, led by the charismatic and tough-as-nails foreman, Jack. But when they accidentally unearth an ancient tomb deep within the mines, they awaken a giant octopus known as "Rocktapussy" that has been dormant for centuries.
As the octopus wreaks havoc on the mines and the small town nearby, Jack and his team must fight for their lives using whatever they can find in the mines as weapons. But as they battle the monster, they soon realize that there may be more to this creature than meets the eye, and that they may be facing a much bigger threat than they ever imagined.
As the octopus continues its rampage, the team uncovers a sinister plot involving a mysterious corporation and a wealthy businessman with a hidden agenda. With the help of a local scientist and a plucky young reporter, Jack and his team take on the corrupt forces behind the monster and try to save their town from destruction.
