Asterix: The Secret of the Magic Potion is a 2018 French animated comedy-adventure film. The film follows the famous Gaulish warrior, Asterix, and his friend Obelix as they embark on a quest with their village's druid, Getafix, to find a worthy successor to inherit the secret of the magic potion that gives the Gauls their strength and invincibility.
After Getafix has an accident while gathering mistletoe, the village's only source of the potion's key ingredient, he realizes that it's time to secure the future of the Gauls. He decides to find and train a young and talented druid who can learn the secret of the magic potion and continue to protect the village.
With the aid of a magical map, Asterix, Obelix, and Getafix travel across Gaul to meet potential candidates for the job. On their journey, they encounter various obstacles, including rival druidic factions, Roman patrols, and a group of pirates.
As they move from village to village, and encounter each potential candidate, they discover that not all druids are what they appear to be. Some are too ambitious, some are too timid, and some are simply not capable of handling the responsibility of guarding the secret of the magic potion.
After a series of misadventures, the trio finally discovers a young druid named Pectin who shows great promise. He is brave, smart, and quick to learn. With Pectin by their side, Asterix, Obelix, and Getafix return to their village with the hope that the magic potion will continue to protect their people for generations to come.
