The movie begins with Jacqueline, a young woman who has been sheltered her entire life by her overprotective and ruthless father, Jimmy Bombay. She is suddenly thrust into the seedy underworld of Miami's crime scene, where her father expects her to marry Dante Calivari, the handsome and dangerous son of a powerful foreign drug lord.
Although Jacqueline is initially hesitant to go along with the plan, she soon realizes that she has no choice. Her father's threats are very real, and she quickly finds herself embroiled in a world of violence and deceit.
As the wedding approaches, Jacqueline is increasingly anxious about her future. She tries to escape, but her father always seems to be one step ahead. Eventually, she turns to a kind and compassionate priest for guidance, and he becomes her only source of comfort in this dangerous situation.
As the wedding ceremony begins, Jacqueline is overcome by a feeling of dread. She knows that she's walking into a trap, and that her life is in danger. But when the violence erupts, she finds that her courage is stronger than she ever knew.
In the end, Jacqueline is able to stand up to her father and the foreign drug cartel. She emerges victorious, having finally found her own voice and her own sense of power. But the cost of her victory is high, and she is left to pick up the pieces of her shattered life.
