Asher (Ron Perlman) is a former Mossad agent who has turned into a gun for hire. He leads an austere life in Brooklyn, taking on jobs that require his unique skill set. At the age of 60, Asher has reached the end of his career and is contemplating retirement.

One day on a job, Asher meets a beautiful and mysterious woman named Sophie (Famke Janssen). They share a connection, and Asher is drawn to her. However, things go wrong on the job, and Asher is forced to make a difficult decision.

In order to have a chance at love and a new life, Asher must break the oath he took as a young man. He must turn his back on his former life and kill the man he was. With the help of his mentor (Richard Dreyfuss), Asher must take one last job to get out of the game for good.

Asher is a character study of a man who has spent his entire life doing terrible things for a living. He is a man who has not known love or happiness, and is now grappling with the idea that it might not be too late for him to have those things. With strong performances from the cast and stylish direction from Michael Caton-Jones, Asher is a thrilling and contemplative film about the choices we make in our lives and the possibility of redemption.
