Ardh is an upcoming Hindi movie directed by Preeti Singh and co-produced by Arun Shankar and Vivek Awasthi. The story of the movie revolves around a transgender character named Lakshmi, played by Rajpal Yadav, who dreams of becoming a Bollywood hero. As she embarks on her journey to fulfill her dream, she faces various obstacles, including discrimination, societal pressure, and financial struggles.
The movie also features Hiten Tejwani, who plays the role of Lakshmi's mentor, and Elahe Hiptoola, who plays the role of a transgender activist. Ardh aims to shed light on the struggles and discrimination faced by the transgender community in India and to promote acceptance and inclusivity.
The film's music is composed by Shaan Asif Raj and cinematography is done by Rakesh Rawat. The shooting of the film took place in various locations in Mumbai, including Dharavi, Shivaji Park, and Dadar.
Ardh will mark Rajpal Yadav's comeback to Bollywood after a gap of almost two years. The movie is set to release in 2021.
