Aquaman is a 2018 superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. The film was directed by James Wan and stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, and Patrick Wilson as King Orm.
The story of the film revolves around Arthur Curry, the young son of a human lighthouse keeper and Atlanna, the queen of Atlantis, who abandoned him on land after falling in love with his father. Growing up, Arthur discovers his half-Atlantean heritage and learns that he has incredible powers that allow him to communicate with sea creatures and control water.
When his half-brother Orm declares war on the surface world, Arthur is called upon by Mera and Atlantean warrior Nuidis Vulko to take his rightful place as king and stop Orm's plans. Along the way, Arthur must face his own fears and doubts about his identity as a half-Atlantean and ultimately become the hero that Atlantis and the world needs.
