Appleseed Alpha is a 2014 Japanese-American computer-animated science fiction action film directed by Shinji Aramaki. It serves as a reboot of the Appleseed film series and is based on the comic book by Masamune Shirow, the creator of Ghost in the Shell.
The film is set in a post-apocalyptic world where a global war has devastated much of the planet. Deunan, a highly skilled soldier, and her cyborg partner Briareos continue to fight for human survival in the harsh New York wasteland. Together, they search for the rumored utopian city of Olympus, where humans and cyborgs coexist peacefully.
As they journey through the dangerous ruins of the city, they encounter a variety of allies and enemies who aid or hinder their quest. They eventually discover that Olympus is not what it seems and must fight to protect it from the corrupt and powerful forces that threaten its existence.
