Appassionata is a 1974 Italian drama film directed by Gianluigi Calderone. The movie follows two teenage friends, 15-year-old Eugenia and 16-year-old Nicola, living in Rome, who are curious about their sexuality and want to explore it. They have been close friends since childhood and now they are on a quest to explore their sensuality.

Eugenia lives with her strict, conservative father, a dentist, and her mentally ill mother. Nicola lives with his single mother, who is an artist and a free spirit. Eugenia becomes attracted to Nicola and they start a secret relationship. They spend time together, exploring each other's bodies and pushing the limits of their sexuality.

Their sexual experimentation begins to affect their lives in unexpected ways. Nicola becomes increasingly reckless, skipping school and getting into trouble with the law. Eugenia's father notices her unusual behavior and becomes suspicious. He begins to suspect that his daughter is involved with Nicola and becomes increasingly protective.

The tension in the household builds as Eugenia's parents become more and more concerned about her behavior. Meanwhile, Nicola's mother becomes worried about her son's reckless behavior and tries to intervene.

The film features beautiful cinematography and a haunting musical score that captures the mood of the story. The performances by the young actors are raw and honest, bringing the characters to life and making the audience care about their plight. The film ends with a bittersweet conclusion that leaves the audience questioning the consequences of youthful passion.
