Sophie, a widowed mother, is struggling to keep her life together after losing her husband in a tragic accident. Her daughter is deeply affected by the loss and has become withdrawn and depressed. Sophie, a medical scientist, is working long hours at a research lab, trying to find a cure for a deadly disease that is sweeping the world.
One day, Sophie meets a former physicist who shows her a secret time-bending machine. The physicist tells her that the machine can transport her to a parallel universe where her husband is still alive. However, the catch is that she can never return to her own universe.
Sophie is faced with an impossible decision. She is torn between the desire to be with her husband again and the responsibility to her daughter and her work.
